Video to Image Gallery

You recorded a video: a talk, a client meeting, an event, a walk through your office. Somewhere in it are a handful of great photos. Video to Image Gallery finds them. Drop the video in, and it turns it into still frames, picks the best ones, and lets you send your favorites to your inbox with one tap. One recording becomes a week of image posts.

It lives at evyus.com/tools/video-to-images, it is free, needs no login, and works on your phone. The video never leaves your device: the frames are made right in your browser, and only the photos you choose to email are sent.

  • Speakers and event hosts who want stage photos from a recording.
  • Content creators who need images for posts and thumbnails without a camera.
  • Anyone who filmed something on their phone and wants the best stills from it.
  • Anyone making a collage or a short GIF from a video moment.

Drag a video onto the page or tap to choose one from your phone or computer. MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V and anything else your browser can play all work. You see the length, size and resolution once it loads.

Pick One frame every N seconds (every 2 seconds is the default) or An even spread of N frames across the clip. You can also set a start and end time to work on one part of the video, choose PNG (sharpest) or JPEG (smaller files), and cap the width. Press Extract frames. Up to 500 frames come out of one video.

Press Pick best frames (it picks 6 by default, change the number if you want more or fewer). It chooses the sharpest, best lit frames and skips the ones that are blurry, too dark, washed out, or almost the same as a frame it already picked, so you get a varied set instead of six copies of one moment. The picks get a purple border and a Top pick tag.

Set Show to Best first to see the strongest frames at the top, and tick Picks only to see just your picks.

Press Swipe to pick to go through the frames one at a time, full screen:

  • Swipe right to keep a frame, swipe left to skip it. Or tap the star and X buttons. On a computer the arrow keys work.
  • The back button undoes your last choice.
  • Each frame shows Sharp, OK or Blurry or dark to help you decide.
  • If you ran Pick best frames first, those start out kept, so you are just checking its work.

When you reach the end you see all your keepers with buttons to email them, download them, or make a collage or GIF.

You can also tap the star on any frame in the gallery to add or remove it.

Once you have picks, a bar stays at the bottom of the screen:

  • Email picks to me: type your email once (the page remembers it) and press Send. Up to 20 photos arrive as attachments in a minute or so. They are sent at full quality and only shrunk if they would not fit in one email.
  • Download picks (.zip): all your picks in one file.
  • Collage: opens your picks in the Collage Maker in a new tab, ready to arrange. A collage uses up to 9 photos; the rest wait in its tray.
  • GIF: opens your picks in the Collage Maker’s animated GIF mode, in video order, so you can set the speed and save a short GIF.

Download all (.zip) at the top saves every frame, and each frame also has its own Download and Copy buttons (Copy lets you paste a frame straight into LinkedIn, Docs or Slack).

Video to Image Gallery is where a recording enters the content loop on the evyAI Tools overview. Pair a picked frame with an opening line from the Hook Lab and polish the post in the Post Editor. For the words in the video instead of the pictures, use Voice to Text. To trim, crop or resize the video itself, use the Video Studio.

  • Best means sharp, well lit and varied. It does not know who is in the frame or whether someone is smiling, so give the picks a quick look (Swipe to pick makes that fast).
  • Email holds up to 20 photos per send, and there is a daily limit per inbox. For more, use Download picks.
  • The GIF and collage hand-off takes up to 30 photos.
  • Frames live in this browser tab until you leave the page. Download or email the ones you want to keep.
  • If the browser cannot play a video, it cannot pull frames from it either. Convert it to MP4 first.
  • Something not working? Use Report a problem on What’s New.
