Confidence Map

Speaking, video and going live are learnable skills. What usually stops people is a belief, like “I hate how I look on video” or “Who am I to lead other people?” The Confidence Map lists the 100 beliefs that most often keep people off the stage, off camera and out of the conversation, lets you check yours, and shows you which 3 to break first.

It lives at evyus.com/confidencemap. It is free, needs no login, and runs in your browser: your answers stay on your own computer unless you choose to send your map to Joe. The plans and coaching prompts open in the evyAI Agent, which needs an evyAI account.

  • Anyone who wants to do webinars, video, lives or posting and keeps putting it off.
  • People who stay quiet in meetings and masterminds, or avoid hosting and moderating.
  • New and growing leaders who hold back from owning the role.
  • Coaches who help clients become more visible.

Each area opens with a direct question and holds 10 beliefs:

AreaThe questionExample belief
Public speakingAre you afraid of public speaking?”I’ll freeze or go blank on stage.”
Webinars and workshopsAre you afraid of running webinars?”Nobody will show up to my webinar.”
Video and cameraAre you afraid of video?”I need 20 takes to get it right.”
Photos and being seenAre you afraid of having your photos online?”I’d rather stay behind the scenes.”
Going liveAre you afraid of going live?”I can’t take back a mistake on a live.”
Posting and sharing your voiceAre you afraid of posting?”I post, then panic and delete it.”
Speaking up in meetings and mastermindsAre you afraid to speak up in the room?”Everyone in the mastermind is more successful than me.”
Moderating and hostingAre you afraid of moderating or hosting?”I won’t be able to control the room.”
Leading and owning your authorityAre you afraid of being a leader?”Who am I to lead other people?”
Inner critic and judgmentIs your inner critic the loudest voice in the room?”Confident people are born that way.”

It works exactly like the Belief Map:

  1. Pick your role: Coach, Consultant, Entrepreneur, Sales professional or Leader or manager.
  2. Check your beliefs: tap once for Sometimes, twice for This is me.
  3. See your map: your confidence type (for example “The Camera Dodger”, “The Quiet Contributor” or “The Hidden Leader”), your stats, and the 10 by 10 grid. If very few beliefs are holding you back, you are “The Ready Voice”.
  4. Break these 3 first: for each of your top 3, a challenge question, a new belief, one action for today, and Work through it with evyAI.
  5. Make it real with evyAI: Build my 30-day plan in evyAI creates a confidence plan of small visible steps that get a little bigger each week: a photo, a post, a 60-second video, a 10-minute live, speaking up in a meeting, then hosting or a short webinar. Write a post about my breakthrough helps you share what you are working on.
  6. Send my map to Joe: optional. Your name, email, what you want help with, and a box to tick if you would like to talk. It goes only to Joe Apfelbaum and the evyAI team.
  • Your confidence type, map and top 3, on screen.
  • Download my map image, Copy my map as text, Copy a link to my map (read-only for someone else) and Print or save as PDF.

Once you know what is holding you back, take the first small rep: Screen Recorder for your first video, Voice to Text to talk out a post, Hook Lab to open it, and the Content Calendar to keep showing up. For beliefs about networking, prospecting and selling, use the Belief Map. See the full set on the evyAI Tools overview.

  • It is a self-check and coaching aid, not therapy or a diagnosis.
  • Your answers live in this browser on this computer. Start over clears them. They only leave your computer if you press Send my map to Joe.
