Area Code Lookup
You have a phone number. Where is it from, what time is it there, and is now a good moment to call? Area Code Lookup answers all three, for one number or a whole call list, and then hands the context to evyAI for a local opener or a market brief.
It lives at evyus.com/tools/area-code-lookup, it is free, needs no login, and runs in your browser: the numbers you look up or paste never leave your computer.
Who it’s for
Section titled “Who it’s for”- Salespeople and SDRs working a call list across time zones.
- Anyone who got a missed call or a lead form and wants to know where the number is from before calling back.
- Anyone prospecting a new city, state or country who wants a quick brief on the market.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The page has three tabs: Look up one, Sort a call list and Browse.
1. Look up one
Section titled “1. Look up one”Type an area code, paste a whole phone number in any format (US or international), or search a city, a state or province, a country, or “toll free”. You get:
- The place and the time zone, with the local time right now.
- Whether it is a good time to call, based on business hours there.
- Overlay codes that share the same area, the history of the code and a map.
Copy summary and Copy link let you share the result.
2. Ask evyAI about the area
Section titled “2. Ask evyAI about the area”Under each result, Ask the evyAI agent about this area has buttons that open the evyAI Agent with the prompt filled in:
- Local opener for my outreach
- Market brief
- Networking groups and events
- Conversation starters
- Voicemail scripts
- Ask evyAI with your own question
For a full number, Who owns that number asks evyAI to research the business behind it, the type of line and any spam reports. A state has a State prospecting brief, and a country has How to reach people in that country, covering etiquette and the best way to get in touch. Each one also has Copy the prompt instead if you want to use another AI.
3. Sort a call list
Section titled “3. Sort a call list”Switch to Sort a call list and paste your list: one number per line, or any text with phone numbers in it (a CRM export, a spreadsheet column, an email thread). Names before the number on the same line are kept. Set your Good hours, local time, choose how to sort (time zone west to east, best to call now, state or paste order) and press Sort my list. Not ready with a list? Try a sample.
Every number shows its place, local time and a live call window. Mark each one To call, Left voicemail, Connected, Not interested or Skip, add a note, and watch how far through the list you are. Hide finished keeps the screen clean, and Collapse duplicates removes repeats.
Save list names the list and keeps it in this browser with every status and note, so you can pick up tomorrow where you left off. Plan my call blocks in evyAI asks evyAI to plan your calling day around the time zones and how many numbers are left.
4. Browse
Section titled “4. Browse”Click a state on the map, or browse the lists of states, provinces and territories, toll-free and special codes, and country calling codes.
What comes out
Section titled “What comes out”- The place, local time and call window for any number.
- A call list sorted by time zone with statuses and notes.
- Download CSV, Copy table to paste into Google Sheets (statuses and notes included), and Copy these numbers.
- Openers, briefs, voicemail scripts and call plans written by evyAI.
Where it fits
Section titled “Where it fits”Area Code Lookup is the phone side of the relationship loop on the evyAI Tools overview. Use it with the Warm List when someone is ready for a call, with Website X-Ray to research the company behind a number, and with the Pipeline Stage Builder to decide what a call should move someone to next.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- “Good time to call” is a general guide based on business hours in the main time zone of that area code. It is not a guarantee about the person, and a few area codes cross two time zones; the page warns you when that happens.
- Mobile numbers move with people. The area code tells you where the number was issued, not where the person is today.
- Saved lists live in this browser on this computer. Use Download CSV to keep a copy.
- Local times come from your computer’s clock and time zone settings.
- Something not working? Use Report a problem on What’s New.
