ICP
Ideal Customer Profile
In one sentenceA clear description of the type of company or person who gets the most value from what you sell, and is most valuable to you.
What it means
Your ICP describes the best-fit customer: industry, company size, location, budget, the problem they have and the trigger that makes them buy. For B2B it usually describes the company; the Buyer Persona describes the people inside it.
A sharp ICP makes every other marketing decision easier: who to connect with, what to post about, which leads to call first.
How to use it
- Look at your 10 best clients (most profitable, easiest to work with, most referrals). What do they have in common? That is your ICP.
- Write it in one sentence: "Founder-led [industry] companies with [size] employees in [region] that struggle with [problem]."
- Use it to say no. Leads outside your ICP get a polite referral, not your best hours.
How AI helps
Paste a list of your best clients (or your LinkedIn connections CSV) and ask AI to find the patterns and draft your ICP. Then ask it to write the ICP as a plain-English search you can run on LinkedIn or in the evyAI agent.
