Unconfirmed Lead
In one sentenceA new lead that has come in but has not yet been verified: you have not confirmed they are real, reachable and actually interested.
What it means
When a form fill, ad lead or booking arrives, it is unconfirmed. The email might be fake, the phone number wrong, the person might have clicked by accident, or they might not remember signing up.
Confirming means making real contact: they answer a call or text, reply to an email, or confirm their details or appointment. Until then, an unconfirmed lead should not count as a qualified lead in your reports.
A high share of unconfirmed leads usually points to low-intent sources (for example, instant forms on social ads), slow follow-up, or bots.
How to use it
- Contact every new lead within minutes; the confirmation rate drops fast with every hour that passes.
- Use more than one channel: call, text and email.
- Track confirmation rate by source. If one ad campaign produces many unconfirmed leads, its true CPL is higher than it looks.
- Add a simple qualifying question or a confirmation step to forms to filter out low-intent signups.
How AI helps
AI can send an instant, personal confirmation text or email the moment a lead arrives, answer basic questions, and flag fake or junk entries, so your team only calls real people.
