llms.txt

Just as robots.txt guides search engine crawlers, llms.txt offers AI models a clean, readable summary of a website with links to the most important content, often in Markdown.
It was proposed in 2024 and is not yet an official standard. Support among AI companies varies, but it is cheap to add and helps tools that do read it.
How to use it
- Add an llms.txt file to your site's root listing who you are, what you offer, and your most important pages.
- Keep it short and factual. It is a map, not a sales page.
