LinkedIn Search
Conversational search and Boolean
In one sentenceHow you find people on LinkedIn. Regular search now works best when you describe who you want in plain English; Boolean operators belong in Sales Navigator.
What it means
LinkedIn's regular people search has moved to a conversational style: instead of title and keyword fields, you describe what you are looking for, like "founders of marketing agencies in New York I am connected to." Filters like connection degree, location, company and industry still exist.
Boolean search (combining terms with AND, OR, NOT and quotes, like ("VP Sales" OR CRO) NOT intern) still works in Sales Navigator and in Google searches of LinkedIn profiles.
How to use it
- Write your search the way you would describe the person to a colleague. Keep it short and specific.
- Add connection degree (2nd connections are warmest for introductions) and location filters.
- For precise title targeting, use Sales Navigator.
In evyAI
The evyAI agent also searches conversationally: describe the people you want in plain English and it finds them in its contact and company database.
