10 storytelling frameworks for content people remember

Most content doesn't fail because the information is bad. It fails because nothing happens.

        The pattern behind all 10

        Normal → Tension → Change → Resolution

Someone wants something. Something gets in the way. Something changes. Something happens as a result.

        Expectation → Disruption → Meaning

Telling people what happened makes you a storyteller. Explaining what it means makes you a thought leader.

        Stuck? Answer these 5 questions

        1. What did I want?
        2. What got in the way?
        3. What did I try?
        4. What changed?
        5. What did I learn?

Answer them honestly and you probably have a story. Then cut everything that doesn't add tension, understanding or meaning.

        How to choose

You can stack them. Open with an Open Loop, tell the body as Challenge-Choice-Outcome, build tension with And-But-Therefore, and close with the Before-After-Bridge transformation.

Never told a story before? Try The 60-Second Story: where I was, what went wrong, the turning point, what I learned, where I am now. Or browse the 101 Questions to Find Your Story.

Don't just teach people what you know. Tell them how you came to know it.
