What it means
Most apps keep their data in a database. Common types: relational databases with tables and rows (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite), queried with SQL; document databases (MongoDB, Firebase); and vector databases for AI search. Spreadsheets are fine until many people or apps need the same data at once.
