A Record
In one sentenceThe DNS record that points a domain or subdomain to a server's IP address. It is what makes yourdomain.com open your website.
What it means
An A record says "app.yourdomain.com lives at 203.0.113.10" (an IPv4 address). Its sibling, the AAAA record, does the same for newer IPv6 addresses.
When you launch an app on your own VPS / Server, adding an A record is usually the step that connects your domain to it.
How to use it
- Use a subdomain (tools.yourdomain.com) for new AI-built apps so your main website stays untouched.
- Set the name (@ for the main domain, or the subdomain), type A, and the server's IP. Then wait a few minutes and test.
