What it means
Tools like Perplexity, ChatGPT search, Gemini and Claude with web search show the sources behind their answers. Citations make AI answers verifiable, and getting cited is the goal of AEO.
How to use it
- Click the citations for any fact you plan to repeat. Sometimes the source does not actually say what the AI claims.
- Ask: "Cite a source for each claim."
