VeryGoodPainters.com: Painter Directory #3

A self-running directory of house painters, commercial painting contractors, and cabinet painting specialists, launched with its own bold blue-and-gold brand and a market-by-market buildout that started in Ohio on day one.

The problem

SpeakEasySpas proved the engine, RooferButler proved it could be stamped out in a day. Directory #3 had a new question to answer: could the template take a completely different brand personality and a smarter launch playbook, informed by everything the first two taught?

What Claude Code did

Claude cloned the engine into the painting trade with three segments (house, commercial, and cabinet painting), applied a brand designed in Claude Design rather than inheriting the template's look, and seeded the first markets straight from the market atlas rankings. The nightly cron chain does the rest: backup, scrape, enrich, publish, morning report.

The result

Live with HTTPS and growing every night, with the Ohio buildout underway from day one. The hot-leads briefing is built but deliberately switched off until there is a local partner ready to receive it, a lesson learned from the playbook.

FAQ

How is #3 different from the first two directories?

The engine is the same, the launch is smarter. It started from the market atlas rankings instead of guessing, and the brand was designed fresh instead of adapted from the template.

Why three segments?

House painters, commercial contractors, and cabinet specialists are different searches with different buyers. Splitting them means each page answers one intent well.

Why is the hot-leads feature off?

On purpose. The playbook says a lead briefing without a committed local partner is noise, so it stays off until there is someone to receive it.
